Tips for Business teleconferencing 


Punctuality :  A common complaint in all cross-border business. Dialing in late, waiting for all the participants before starting the meeting or delays due to faulty equipment are unprofessional.


Start with introductions :  all the participants can make a quick voice/ name connect which is extremely helpful during the call. Unaccounted for people listening in breaches trust .


Don't wait for latecomers :   Latecomers should enter the call silently, and announce their presence only when there's a pause between topics.


Reduce the speed of speaking :  interacting with nations where English is a second language, take frequent pauses, Volume constant through to the end of each word and sentence, allowing others time to fully comprehend 


Summarise :  Jot down the minutes during the call and take frequent breaks to summarise the relevant points covered


Interrupting :  Monotonous the speaker or how relevant your point, wait for a pause before butting in.


Use basic english :  use of idioms, humor, proverbs or local words. As the visual component gets compromised during a telecon


Understand cultural communication styles :  apanese like long pauses, the Americans like to fill the gaps with chatter and some cultures like to hold side conversations in their local language. I


Wrap up :  After the call, document and email all the points discussed, requesting for feedback.
