Air Travel Tips For Parents Travelling With Small Children Airline travel today is a lot different than it used to be, with new rules and regulations, as well as security alerts and procedures. For parents who are traveling with small children, air travel can be a nightmare if you are not careful.
If you are traveling with small children, there are some tips to follow to try and make your airline travel as hassle free as possible. There are rules and regulations concerning what is allowed in your carry on luggage, and the limit for liquids is two ounces. For formula and expressed breast milk, this limit does not apply and you can carry enough of these in your carry on bag to last for the duration of the flight. The breast milk or formula must be kept separate from the other carry on liquids, and you must declare to security personnel what the liquid is and why it is needed. The exception only applies to the maximum amount that could be needed for your travel, so you could not take four gallons of formula or expressed breast milk for a two hour flight.
For parents who have small children who still use diapers, most airport bathrooms have changing stations, and you may bring diapers as well as wipes, small bottles of lotion and baby oil, and any other necessary supplies. Just make sure that the bottles are two ounces or less, not bigger bottles that are half empty. If your child is a toddler, it is also a good idea to bring books and toys to amuse them. Ever since 9/11, security checkpoints are slow, and passengers must be at the airport hours early, so make sure that you have something to keep your child amused and happy.

Trekking is a fantastic way to experience nature either on your own or with friends & family. But it also requires more planning & preparation as compared to heading off to the nearest beach resort. Food & water: Carry enough food and water for everyone. A little extra never hurts, but every item you put in that backpack adds to the weight you’re carrying so be judicious. Distribute the weight so one person gets exhausted and slows down the entire group.
Trekking Gear: Wear sturdy shoes and light clothing. Use a backpack not carry bags or hand bags. If you’re going during the monsoons make sure you have appropriate protective gear. Lastly, a first aid kit and a flashlight are essentials in your trekking kit.

3. Make sure your electronic devices are “travel ready”: Disable all file-sharing, peer-to-peer communications, and vulnerable ports. Laptops should be encrypted and protected with strong passwords.
Remote connections should be set to automatically disconnect after a certain period of inactivity.
4. Never leave sensitive information in your rental car or an unattended hotel room: If you wish to leave your laptop in the hotel, be sure to put it in your room safe or hotel's storage in a centralized main safe or secure holding area.
5. Avoid using open Wi-Fi hotspots: If your company provides you with VPN access, use it. Otherwise, set your computer default to require your authority before connecting to a new network.
Avoid open networks, and look for a fully deployed Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) network, which affords a higher level of security. Use public computers at your own risk.
6. Know what’s in your wallet: Before you hit the road, make photocopies of the personal material in your wallet like driver’s license, credit cards, insurance cards, etc. – front and back – and store those copies in a safe place at home.
Should your wallet be lost or stolen, you won’t be left wondering what was actually taken, and you’ll be able to quickly notify the appropriate agencies about what has taken place.
